Hoping to end their Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy drought, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have endured a nightmare start to their campaign so far. RCB, who are one of the few teams yet to win the IPL, lost to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Tuesday, suffering their third loss in four matches. Chasing 182, RCB were bowled out for 153 in 19.4 overs. Barring Virat Kohli, no other batter has managed to give a good account for himself. Overseas stars like captain Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green have not been able to find their feets so far in the tournament.

Just like previous seasons, there bowling has a disaster so far with bowlers leaking runs.

Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Ambati Rayudu explained why RCB have never won an IPL. Rayudu said that the team lacks consistency in both the departments.

"I feel their bowling always gives over-par runs and batting performs under par. No big-name batter is seen playing for RCB when they are under pressure. Such teams never win. This is why they have not won the IPL for so many years," Rayudu responded to a query on Star Sports as quoted by Sportskeeda.

Rayudu minced no words while slamming the senior players in the dressing room.

"All young players keep playing down the order and the big-name players go at the top and leave after eating the cake over the cream. If you see, who were the batters batting under pressure - your young Indian batters and Dinesh Karthik. Your big-name international players, who need to take the pressure, where were they? All of them were in the dressing room. This is not happening today. This has been this team's story for the last 16 years," he added.

RCB were bowled out for 153 and suffered their third loss in four matches this season. LSG won their second straight match after an opening defeat.

RCB are currently ninth in the points table while LSG occupy the final playoffs place.
