Russia detains ally of defence minister Shoigu for corruption

A top deputy of Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu has been ordered to remain in custody by a Russian court over bribery allegations. Deputy Defence Minister Timur Ivanov, 48, was arrested by the Federal Security Service (FSB) for allegedly accepting significant bribes. The court held Ivanov in custody until June 23. In court, Ivanov, clad in his uniform, appeared with a slight frown.
