Australia runs risk of blackouts amid transmission lines delay

Australia faces power shortages due to delays in installing transmission lines for wind and solar farms, impacting the country's energy transition plans. This is a challenge for meeting the renewable power target by 2030 and expanding transmission networks to handle new renewable projects located far from demand centres are hindering progress. Delays in project development, and commissioning, and the need for backup supplies are increasing reliability risks.
