Security personnel fired tear gas shells at protesters of the Cockroach Janta Party marching to Parliament on Monday, said the political campaign.
This came soon after the Cockroach Janta Party said that the Union government had reached out for talks with the political campaign amid protests in Delhi. Spokespersons of the campaign said that they will be meeting Union minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader JP Nadda.
“Our demands are clear,” spokesperson Saurav Das said on social media. “The youth has gathered in huge numbers. We shall win!”
The campaign has been demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for the alleged mismanagement of competitive examinations.

- On social media, the Cockroach Janta Party asked why the police had resorted to “tear gas assault on peaceful protesters”. “Sir Narendra Modi, have you decided we are no longer a democracy?” asked the campaign. “First your government ignored this protest for a month and now when we are peacefully marching your government is attacking us.”
