Rural women in several African countries are being trained as solar engineers through the Solar Mamas programme. The initiative aims to provide communities with access to electricity while empowering women with technical skills. Women have learned to assemble and maintain solar lighting systems, creating local expertise. Reports indicate that the programme has brought significant improvements to daily life in villages.
