Russia steps up assaults on Pokrovsk front in Ukraine's east

Russian forces increased their attacks on the Pokrovsk front in eastern Ukraine, with the largest number of battles in a day reported in a week, according to the Ukrainian military. Focused around Hrodivka and Zhelanne, the battles represented more than a third of those along the 1,000-kilometer front. The escalation follows Ukraine's cross-border incursion into Russia's Kursk region.
