'Halloween Comet' set to light up sky in October—But will it survive sun?

The newly discovered comet C/2024 S1, possibly a remnant of the Great Comet of 1106, will reach its closest approach to Earth on October 24. Expected to brighten the skies around Halloween, it may be visible during daylight, particularly on October 28 if it remains intact.
