Ex-bureaucrat allegedly questioned by Delhi Police for X post about Amit Shah, released hours later

Former civil servant Ashish Joshi was picked up by persons in plain clothes, purportedly Delhi Police personnel, and taken to the Special Cell police station in New Friends Colony, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit alleged on Wednesday.
Joshi was dropped off at his home by the police in the evening, he said in a social media post. Joshi had been “interrogated”, but no case has been registered against him, Dikshit told Scroll.

Dikshit said that as Joshi was taking his morning walk at the Nehru Park, he was asked to accompany two plainclothes police officers. A friend who was with Joshi told Dikshit that the officers said that this concerned an X post the former bureaucrat had posted about Home Minister Amit Shah.
Last month, the former civil servant had claimed on X that there had been a “massive showdown” between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Home Secretary Govind Mohan on the matter of police action against students protesting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.
Joshi had claimed that the home secretary was “against severe police action against students” and that there was “resistance” by junior officers who were on the field.
