Researchers developed experimental tiles from discarded oyster shells for a Brighton house. These shells, collected from a local restaurant, were heated and mixed with crushed shells. The resulting tiles protected insulation made from reused bedding and duvets. This project explored reusing local waste materials within the building process. The innovative tiles were also exhibited internationally as a building prototype.
