United States import prices saw an unexpected rise in June. Nonfuel import costs increased, offsetting lower fuel prices during the month. Industrial supplies and materials became more expensive, driven by chemicals and finished nonmetals. Fuel prices showed mixed movements, with petroleum falling and natural gas rising. Export prices, however, experienced a decline in June.
