A 112-acre restoration project has begun along New Jersey's Raritan River to restore floodplain forest, wetlands and wildlife habitat affected by past contamination linked to the American Cyanamid Superfund Site. The project will plant about 50,000 native trees and shrubs, create three acres of vernal pools, control invasive plants and protect new vegetation with deer fencing. The restored site will be monitored and managed for 15 years.
