"Just Like Dada": Pathan's Sensational Compliment For Young India Batter

Former Indian cricket team all-rounder Irfan Pathan was all praise for youth batter Yashasvi Jaiswal and likened his off-side game to that of Sourav Ganguly. Ganguly was well-known for his batting prowess on the off-side and over the years, he earned a bunch of compliments from both fans and experts alike. Pathan said that he was excited for Jaiswal after his recent heroics against England in the ongoing Test series and predicted that if he can play for next 10 years, experts will talk about his game as much as they talk about Ganguly's. Jaiswal showed brilliant run of form in the first two Tests against England including a historic double ton that guided his team to victory in the second game.

“There's one player who I'm excited for, he is Yashasvi Jaiswal. Now, it has to be seen how he performs in IPL. What an exciting player he is. He possesses the off-side game, just like Dada (Sourav Ganguly). Just like we used to see him and say, ‘He's the king of the off-side'," Irfan said at a public event broadcast by Star Sports.

“If he goes on to play for the next 10 years, we will speak about his game as much as we spoke about Dada's. Jaiswal is that kind of a player. And now he has scored a double hundred in international hundred and he has a great background story,” Pathan added.

Meanwhile, former England captain Michael Vaughan said that young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is a "problem" for the Three Lions and is an unbelievable player.

Vaughan was speaking on the Club Prairie Fire Podcast. Jaiswal recently lit up Visakhapatnam with a marathon double century against England in the second Test, helping India in securing a win.

Vaughan said on the podcast that he met Jaiswal in Mumbai last year and the next day he scored his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) century against Mumbai Indians (MI) and now he has a double ton against the "best team in the world".

"I would say he is a problem for England. He is an issue. He is an unbelievable player. I met him in Mumbai and he got a hundred the next day in the IPL. Now he has gone on to score a double-hundred against the best team in the world," said Vaughan.
