CEC protests: At least nine journalists detained while covering demonstrations in Delhi

The Delhi Police detained at least nine journalists covering protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar for the second consecutive day on Sunday.
Three Indian Express Hindi journalists, a Hindustan Times reporter, two Peek TV journalists and at least three other journalists working with Malayalam news channels, including Reporter TV, 24 News and Asianet News, were detained.
The Indian Express reported that its journalists Shashwat, Siya and Vijay were detained while reporting from Connaught Place. They were taken to Chhatrasal Stadium and later released, the newspaper reported.

Peek TV said its journalists Vedanta Agarwal and Sara Khan were “dragged” and detained by the Delhi Police from Connaught Place while reporting on the detention of protesters, despite showing their press cards.
The Malayalam journalists were also released hours later, Mathrubhumi reported.
