US couple married for over 50 years die hugging each other during Hurricane Helene

A South Carolina couple, Marcia and Jerry Savage, both in their 70s, died when a tree fell on their home during Hurricane Helene. Their grandson had just checked on them before the incident. The storm has claimed over 190 lives across multiple states.
