The UAE has launched a two-year, AED 750 million upgrade of Emirates Road (E611), expanding a 25km stretch between Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain. The project includes new lanes, bridges, and collector roads, aiming to cut travel times by up to 45%. It will boost traffic capacity and ease congestion between Dubai and the northern emirates.
