Congress MP Shashi Tharoor welcomed Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s re-election as Brazil’s president in a recent post. Tharoor emphasized Lula’s commitment to social inclusion, economic justice, and poverty alleviation after his closely contested victory. The election reflects Brazil’s preference for democratic resilience and cooperation amid rising right-wing movements in Latin America. Issues surrounding the voting process emerged, with disputes raised by both campaigns before result announcements.
