The Delhi Police has denied permission for singer Diljit Dosanjh’s concert at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30, reported PTI.

The concert did not receive clearance due to security concerns, reported ANI.

The deputy commissioner of police in South Delhi reportedly told ticketing platform BookMyShow that the request was not approved because of threat-related inputs and security requirements during the festive season.

The Hindu festival of Diwali will be celebrated on November 8.

Dosanjh’s Delhi concert was to kick off the India leg of his Aura India Tour. He is scheduled to perform in Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Chandigarh in November and December.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Jarnail Singh asked if the reason being cited for police denying permission for the concert was an “excuse”.

Security or an Excuse? Let the Public Know the Truth!

Why was permission for Diljit Dosanjh’s October 30 show reportedly cancelled in the name of security? If security was the concern, why was the issue not addressed with proper planning?
