Nepal: 95 dead in flash flood, over 100 Indians missing

At least 95 persons died in a flash flood and mudslide in Nepal on Wednesday, AFP quoted the police as saying.

One hundred and five Indian tourists are among 291 foreign citizens reported missing after the flash floods, the Nepal Tourism Board said.

The incident occurred in the Rasuwa district along Nepal’s northern border with China. The mountainous district is located about 120 km north of Kathmandu.

The flash flood swept away several villages along the Bhotekoshi river, and damaged roads and bridges, videos posted on social media showed.

The cause of the floods is yet to be established.
