Lookout notice issued against actor Shilpa Shetty, husband Raj Kundra in fraud case

The Mumbai Police has issued a lookout circular against actor Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra in connection with a Rs 60 crore fraud case, PTI reported on Friday.
The circular is used by law enforcement authorities to check whether a person leaving the country is wanted by the police.
The lookout notice was issued by the Economic Offences Wing of the Mumbai Police as Shetty and Kundra, a businessperson, make frequent international trips, PTI quoted an unidentified officer as saying.
The action was taken in a case registered against the couple at Juhu police station in August for allegedly duping businessman Deepak Kothari of nearly Rs 60 crore in a loan-cum-investment deal, according to reports.
Kothari, director of Lotus Capital Financial Services, has alleged that between 2015 and 2023, Shetty and Kundra diverted funds he had given them for business expansion, for personal purposes, the Hindustan Times reported.
The first information report in the matter says that Kothari was introduced to Kundra through a mutual acquaintance. He was informed that the couple held about 88% shares in a company named Best Deal TV.
