Seven persons were injured after a four-storey building collapsed in northeast Delhi’s Seemapuri on Wednesday, reported The Indian Express.

The building collapsed at about 3.30 pm. Five persons are trapped under the debris, District Magistrate Ajay Kumar was quoted as saying by PTI.

Portions of two to three adjoining houses were buried under debris, the news agency quoted unidentified officials as saying.

Residents told PTI that the building had developed cracks after tremors felt in the national capital because of an earthquake in Uttarakhand on Tuesday. Officials said that the exact cause of the collapse will be investigated.

The Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory asking commuters to avoid the Seemapuri area.
