The Delhi Police has imposed restrictions, including orders prohibiting gatherings, curbs on travel to and within the city and warnings against joining the protest at Jantar Mantar on Saturday to demand Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation.
Since late Thursday night, the Delhi Police have been making public announcements near Parliament warning that Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita was in force.

The section prohibits gatherings of four or more persons, processions and road blockades. The police also warned of legal action against violators.
The police personnel are also visiting colleges, mosques, resident welfare associations and other public places to discourage people from joining the protest.
Trains scheduled to arrive in Delhi between 4 am and 2 pm on Saturday have been cancelled, while the police have sought the closure of 57 metro stations.
The protest – called by CJP, Left groups, student organisations and civil society activists – is being held to demand Kumar’s resignation over alleged irregularities in the conduct of the special intensive revision of voter rolls and to scrap the exercise.
Leaders of the INDIA bloc, student unions and other groups have been holding protests in Delhi since October 2.
