Music composer, singer and actor GV Prakash Kumar and singer Saindhavi surprised their fans when they performed together at a concert in Malaysia, after their recent separation announcement. The couple, who were married for 11 years, announced their split in May this year. For this special performance post-separation, the duo sang their song Pirai Thedum from Dhanush's film Mayakkam Enna. For the unversed, GV Prakash Kumar and Saindhavi originally provided vocals for this track in 2011. As GV Prakash Kumar played the piano, Saindhavi wowed the audience with her mesmerizing voice.

GV Prakash Kumar shared an elaborate note that read, “After much reflection, Saindhavi and I have decided to part ways after 11 years of marriage, For the sake of our mental peace and betterment while preserving our mutual respect for each other. After the separation announcement, GV Prakash Kumar and Saindhavi faced backlash and trolls. People began speculating about the reasons behind their separation and spreading rumours about why they were getting divorced. Reacting to the hatred, Saindhavi shared a note on Instagram.

The note read, “It's disheartening to see numerous YouTube videos fabricating stories about the news they've received, especially after we requested privacy. To clarify, our divorce is not due to any external force, and randomly assassinating someone's character baselessly is unacceptable. This decision was mutually made by both of us for our betterment. GV Prakash and I have been friends for 24 years since our school days, and we will continue to maintain that friendship moving forward. Thank You.”
