The Cabinet Committee has approved doubling the Bakhtiyarpur–Rajgir–Tilaiya railway line. This project costs Rs 2,192 crore. It will improve connectivity to Rajgir, Nalanda, and Pawapuri. The initiative benefits 13.5 lakh people across Gaya and Nawada. Freight traffic is expected to rise significantly. The project reduces oil imports and carbon emissions.
