Netflix unveiled the trailer of its docu-series The Roshans on January 9 in Mumbai. The series delves into the life, art, and generational legacy of one of Indian cinema's most iconic families — The Roshans. Rakesh Roshan, Rajesh Roshan, and Hrithik Roshan were present at the trailer launch of The Roshans to discuss the series and share the story behind how it was created.
During the event, Hrithik Roshan was shown a memorable photograph of himself as a child artist with Rajinikanth, from when they were filming for Bhagwaan Dada (1986). Hrithik was 10 years old when he acted in Bhagwan Dada.
Reflecting on the moment, Hrithik shared that he was so young and naive back then that he didn't fully grasp the significance of sharing the screen with such a legendary actor. Hrithik fondly recalled referring to Rajinikanth as "Rajni Uncle", praising the superstar's warm demeanour. He also expressed his desire to work with Rajinikanth again, noting that he would approach the experience differently now.
Speaking about his time working with Rajinikanth, Hrithik shared an anecdote from the set of Bhagwaan Dada. He recalled making several mistakes during filming, and how his maternal grandfather, Jay Om Prakash, the director of the film, would frequently call for a cut.
Hrithik added, "Every single time I made a mistake, Rajni Sir took the blame so that I, as a child, wouldn't feel conscious."
The Roshans will begin streaming on Netflix from January 17.
