Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 opened to stellar numbers at the box office. Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan applauded the actor for his talent in a heartwarming post on X (formerly known as Twitter). Amitabh Bachchan shared an old video of the Telugu superstar, where he spoke about the influence of Big B on his career. Sharing the video, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, "AlluArjun ji .. so humbled by your gracious words .. you give me more than I deserve .. we are all such huge fans of your work and talent .. may you continue to inspire us all .. my prayers and wishes for your continued success!"

Allu Arjun said in the video, "I am inspired by Amitabh (Bachchan)ji. He has a long span of career. I absolutely adore the megastar of our country because we have grown up watching his films. He has had a lot of impact on us in the growing years. Even till date, at this age, I keep thinking, if I get very old, I should still be acting like how gracefully Amitabhji is doing. Pushpa 2 opened to mixed reviews from critics and audience alike. In his review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee wrote, "The self-same rampage is repeated in the climax. Pushpa once again dons the guise of Kali. After the hurly-burly is done and a wedding is underway to indicate an end to hostilities, Pushpa Part 2 points to a Part 3. The final chapter of the trilogy will be titled Pushpa: The Rampage. As if there hasn't been enough already." The film already minted Rs 800 core globally within four days of its release. According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 141.5 crore nett in India on December 8. Of this, the Hindi version contributed a staggering Rs 85 crore nett, while the Telugu version earned Rs 44 crore nett. In Tamil Nadu, the film recorded Rs 9.5 crore nett on Sunday.
