Philippines military backs permanent stay of US missile system

Philippine military chief General Romeo Brawner supports the permanent presence of a US missile system in his country, despite China's objections. The Typhon mid-range missile system was deployed during joint exercises and has not been removed. Defence Secretary Gilberto Teodoro criticized China for interfering and urged Beijing to dismantle its own military assets.
